Fadi undertook his original training as an ophthalmologist in Cheltenham (2001-2005). He then went on to complete a series of high-profile fellowships. First, in surgical retinal in the renown Western Eye Hospital (2005) in London. Then in 2006, he undertook a higher surgical fellowship in medical and surgical retinal diseases in Singapore. During his time in Singapore, he was awarded the International Council of Ophthalmology Fellowship.
Fadi then went on to pursue further training with a Cornea and Refractive surgery fellowship in University of San Diego, California in 2007. During that time, Fadi worked with a pioneering refractive surgeon at CODET Vision Institute, Tijuana, Mexico.
As a full consultant Fadi returned home to Damascus where he set up the Eye & Ear Surgical hospital Damascus-Syria where he held the post of Chief Surgeon specialising in retinal, corneal and refractive conditions.
In 2012, he returned to the UK with his family to work as a Consultant Surgeon in Primary, Cornea and Retina conditions at Cheltenham General Hospital (Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust).
